The Father, The Son and the Supporting Spouses
By Michael Riles
Hearts on Fire Books
Michael Riles gives us a treat in The Father, The Son and the Supporting Spouses. Told in the era of the baby boomer, from young adulthood to present day The Father… leads you on a journey with its main character, Joe Nichols as he is faced with the trials and tribulations of what many of us have all had to deal with. Joe’s story, although similar to what many have also gone through, keeps you riveted, as you wonder what amazing turn his life will take next. This book does not disappoint but rather gives you hope. I would recommend this to anyone who appreciates a good story.

The Phantom Seducer
by Hunter James
This is the first Hunter James book I have read and was pleasantly surprised. I hadn’t been prepared for the different genres that blended within this story. While this is a gripping story, I found myself captivated by the descriptive nature of the love scenes, and laughing at the character’s humor. The Phantom Seducer is a story that takes you through a young man’s life. From his youthful exploits when he first realizes the depths and hunger of his sexuality to the later dilemmas he is forced to deal with in life. As the young man grows you can’t help but want to read on to see what will happen next. I would definitely recommend this book.
Jack Weaver can’t seem to escape a life of lies. First a Seal, then as an undercover CIA operative working in the largest drug cartel in Columbia Jack’s entire existence is based on being someone other than who he truly is. While serving as Chief Security Officer to one of the most dangerous men on earth Jack uncovers a plot to assassinate the President-Elect on Inauguration Day. Suddenly things become infinitely worse when his ex-SEAL commander who is now a Deputy Director with the CIA shows up and blows his cover. Forced to kill him, Jack is now on the run not only for his life but he’s the only one who knows about the assassination attempt, other than a mysterious man who calls himself the Emperor and seems to be calling all the shots.
Moreover, Jack is being haunted by terrifying dreams from his past that seem to be connected to this entire conspiracy involving his old SEAL team. Desperate for answers Jack breaks into the home of Vice-President elect Warren Walters, another SEAL teammate, where he is discovered by Warren’s abused wife Caroline. He forces Caroline to go with him with the intentions of letting her go once he gets the information he needs. Overcoming her fear of Jack, Caroline refuses to leave, seeing this as an opportunity to escape her own life of lies. This starts a chain reaction of feelings neither of them is prepared for. The Emperor has seriously underestimated Jack’s determination to find answers and is losing control over all the puppets he has in play. As Jack and Caroline come closer and closer to the answers and each other will they be able to save the President-elect’s life as well as their own, or will a blast from Jack’s past destroy them all?
Kelly has done a beautiful job telling her story. This is a book that once you start reading you won't be able to stop. She weaves her story in and out leaving you wanting more. I would recommend this book to all. It is very well written and she is a talented author. I can't wait to read more by this author.

Once Upon A Love
written by : Marilyn Yarbrough
published by: Hearts On Fire Books
author: Marilyn Yarbrough
Publisher: Hearts On Fire Books
Genre: Romance
Jake Tyrell had promised his dying brother that he would always take care of his family. Now that his brother’s wife is dead also, the children have traveled to California to live with him.
Amanda Collingsworth has run away from her brother’s fanatical control of her life, but during her flight she stumbles across three children who have been abandoned by their nursemaid. She rescues them and poses as their mother to avoid capture by the detectives her brother has hired.
Jake has smoldering good looks, and at times he can be caring and thoughtful, but the only thing he wants from a woman is lust, for to him love only exists in the fairy tales that Amanda reads to the children. He also believes a woman’s place is in the home--but not his home, for he never intends to marry. The only reason Amanda is there is to care for his brother’s children.
Amanda believes in love, but she finds herself on the verge of giving herself to Jake--a man she barely knows, a man she barely likes, simply because her body craves his touch. She tries to persuade Jake to open his heart, and not just his home, to his brother’s children. But she doubts that there will ever be room in his heart for her even though her own feelings for Jake burn far deeper than lust.
Marilyn Yarbrough gives us a touching historical romance story. I truly enjoyed getting to know the characters and as the story continued I actually felt the emotions that the characters were going through. The story is well written and not rushed. It is also written with accuracy to the time which only adds to the drama that unfolds. This is definitely a book I would reccommend for anyone who wants a good romance without being rushed through it.

Author: Dianne Greco
This was a warm touching story full of happiness, pain, fear, and fullfillment. Susan struggles with hardships, but comes out a stronger person in the end. The love that she shows to her son throughout this book will make any mother cry. Then we have Grace. She is such a wonderful funny woman. All through the book I was expecting them to say she was an angel sent down from God to help Susan find her inner peace because she was that great. Susan learned to connect with her son, cook wonderful food, and create her dream garden. She also found a new beginning and true love with Tom. There is a little Susan in us all. This book was well written and I would recommend it to everyone.

Author: Michael Pennington
Genre: Mystery
This book was filled with mystery, suspense, and bravery. I couldn't put it down. From the first page, I wanted to keep reading. Susan/Sasha's first thought was her kids, even when danger was near. On a journey to find the truth she unravels a lifetime of lies. When faced with danger, a killer instinct deep within her appears. As a young girl, she was brain washed and trained to become a killer. What was once a comfortable life with a husband and children, over night became a life on the run. Running for her life, killing people, and seeing her friend murdered was now her life. Mr. Pennington has written a very interesting book. With the twist and turns of trying to avoid the dange, Susan uncovers the truth. I was glad to see at the end the possibility of a second book.
I would highly recommend this book.
Title: Lucid
Author: Katherine Angela Yeborah
In “Lucid” by Katherine Yeboah, Sloane, a college student happens upon lucid dreaming. Sloane’s journey though lucid dreaming will keep you on the edge of seat. As Sloane, tries to sort out her confusing, and frightful dreams, her and her friends cast accusing eyes on her strange neighbor, a man with his own strange story.
This riveting tale kept me on the edge of my seat. This tale has a no frill, straight to the point enthralling plot, followed by a shocking ending.
I did however, find the authors style of writing, somewhat hard to follow, and strange. I found myself more than once stopping too “figure out” what the author meant, (takes away from story line.) I gave this book 3.5 stars and recommend it to anyone who likes a good suspense, but doesn’t mind figuring out small details.

This is a story about Angela Thompson and how she losses the love of her life Mathew. Her emotional journey is one no one will soon forget.
This is a well written, very quick read. The story line was fast moving, and intense. It kept me turning the pages dying to know what could be next. If you split this up in thirds, everyone is enthralling. Minimal description, but enough that you felt you were there.
I found this to be a five star story.

Lucid
Kataherine Angela Yeboah
Sloane Solomon is a beautiful, young college student who lives in the vibrant city of L.A. She first hears about ‘lucid dreaming’ from a friend, who intrigues her with descriptions of dreams so lifelike, so vivid, so unlike any she has ever had before. And when he explains how she can achieve them, by focusing on her hands when she suspects she may be dreaming, Sloane can’t wait to give it a go. Sure enough, her first lucid experiment does not disappoint. She finds herself in a brilliant dream realm where every color is brighter, every sound sharper and every sensation more magical than any she has experienced in the waking world. The dream, however, quickly turns into a horrific nightmare, when she is able to peek into her neighbor’s apartment. There, she is confronted by gruesome visions of a teenager being held captive in a shadowy, secret room. Chained, blindfolded and gagged, the girl kneels naked on a cold and uncarpeted floor. Seeping from the wounds and smarting from the bruises that litter her entire body. Sloane’s friends try to convince her to forget the experience, after all it was ‘only a dream’. But because of the intense nature of her nightmare, Sloane is unable to put the disturbing images out of her mind. More terrifying dreams follow, all centered around her neighbor, Mr. Phillips, and the wretched creature he’s hiding in his tiny torture chamber. To make matters worse, Sloane has begun to notice some very strange behavior from her mysterious neighbor. And a search on the internet reveals that the man she once thought of as sweet and amicable may have a few skeletons lurking in his closet. Is she letting her imagination run away with her, or is it possible that her nightmares have some element of truth behind them? In her lucid state of heightened senses and raised consciousness, has she somehow stumbled upon details of horrors that are actually taking place in the real world? So obsessed by the idea of exposing Phillips and rescuing the battered victim who haunts her dreams, Sloane hatches an extremely risky plot to uncover the truth. But the answers that await her could turn out to be the most frightening nightmare of all.

The Man Of Her Dreams
authors: Thomas and Lois Ann Lewis
A lighthearted romantic story set in present time, The Man of Her Dreams is about Anna Hansen, a young woman who learns about herself, moves beyond low self-esteem and finds true love when she enters a relationship with a ghost—or is he?
The beginning of this tale finds Anna in an unfulfilling relationship with a rather callous fellow by the name of Bobby Johnson. Anna abruptly ends her relationship with this cad when she catches him in an act of infidelity.
Walking in the park one day, after bidding good riddance to Bobby, Anna has a chance encounter with one Andrew Thompson, who is also taking a solitary stroll. It is love at first sight. The fact Andrew appears to be a ghost confuses the situation a bit, but it does not prove to be too great an obstacle for Anna and The Man of Her Dreams.
This is a very nice touching love story about a young woman looking for love. Born several week early, Anna started life rough. But she becomes a fighter. After leaving home after graduation, she finds herself in San Francisco. There she gets involved in an abusive relationship. Trying to relax after a terrible breakup, she stumbles upon a park. At the part she is approached by a stranger and they stride up a conversation.
As they meet several more times, a romance blooms. But why can’t she find him? Why can’t the dreams be real?
After she is stabbed and in critical condition, Anna discovers many suprising facts about Andrew. This story keeps you going to the end. Searching for the truth. Searching for the man of her dreams.

This is a very well written story of a young woman's struggle to start over. She is faced with being a single mother after her husband takes off with all of their money. She is left with bills she can't pay and Christmas coming fast. How can she tell her son that there will be no presents from Santa? While on the computer in a chat room she rediscovers her first love. Unable to believe that Kevin could still care for her, she is afraid to meet him face to face. Kevin wants to rekindle their feeling for each other, but Cheryl stands back a little. She is still confused by what her husband has done to her and her son. On Christmas Eve she gets a knock at the door. On the other side of that door she learns the true meaning of love and finds a new beginning. Kevin's eyes shine with love above the white beard of his Santa Suit as he puts a smile on her son's face. This is a beautiful Christmas story. I highly recommend it.
Once again Ms. Kimbrell has written a great book. When Jordan Mackenzie is faced with the knowledge that her college boyfriend is abusive she knows that she must break up with him. Everyone around her has seen his true colors, but she was always blind to his actions. He left bruises on her, and called her names. She always forgave him, but she couldn't forgive him for threatening her friend Hunter's little brother. Hunter has been in love with her since the first time he laid eyes on her, but he knew that if he rushed things with her he would lose her. He stands back while Matt mistreats her but he is never far away. He's always there when she calls for him. He knows that they will have a life together and their love with grow. This book is perfect for young girls out there becoming women. It might help them beware of the wolf in sheeps clothing. I highly recommend this book to all ages. Well written as all of Ms. Kimbell's books are.
